On 24 April 2026, twenty-three people came to a mat pilates class on the lawn at Fontainebleau Miami Beach. Twenty-two of them posted about it. Not one was paid to.

That last part is the one worth sitting with. Experiential marketing usually gets sold on atmosphere — the room looked beautiful, everyone had a lovely time, here are some photographs. What it rarely gets held to is whether the moment was designed well enough that people chose to broadcast it themselves.

What one morning produced

Thirty-plus pieces of content came out of a two-hour window: twenty-two stories, four reels and two feed posts, all organic.

For context, the wider Beau Monde × Fontainebleau partnership ran from December 2025 through May 2026 and drew more than 60 creators, 127 tracked stories and close to 26,000 combined views — again, with no paid spend behind any of it.

Follower count did not predict performance

The best-performing creator of the day had roughly 12,000 followers and posted at an 8.09% engagement rate. The second had around 23,000 followers and hit 6.35%. A creator with 104,000 followers came third at 4.09%.

Put plainly: the largest account in the room was not the most effective one in it. If we had cast this event purely on reach, we would have spent the budget on the wrong people and produced a worse result.

That is why the roster was built in tiers rather than by size — four macro creators above 100K, six in the 25K–100K range, and twelve micro creators under 25K. The micro tier carried the engagement. The macro tier carried the reach. Neither works properly on its own.

Ten brands, one room, no clutter

Stakt, Vuori, Saint James Iced Tea, Cocolove, Piperwai, LMNT, Suri, Waterboy, Create and Kulli all had a presence. The risk with that many partners is obvious: it stops feeling like a morning and starts feeling like a trade show.

The thing that held it together was that every brand had a reason to be touched, worn, poured or carried during the class itself. Nothing sat on a table waiting to be noticed. Products that get used get photographed.

An honest note on reach

The 830K figure is the combined follower count of everyone who posted. It is the number most agencies would put on the slide, and it is not the same thing as the number of people who saw the content.

Estimated actual reach for the activation was 250,000 to 400,000. Still a strong result for a morning with no media budget — and a number we would rather defend than inflate. If a prospective client asks us how we arrived at a figure, we would like the answer to survive the follow-up question.

What we took into the next one

Three things carried forward.

Design the moment, not the backdrop. A beautiful location is table stakes in Miami. What drove posting was a specific thing happening at a specific time — something that felt worth documenting rather than merely attending.

Cast for engagement, not reach. Reach is what you can buy. Engagement is what tells you a creator's audience actually trusts them.

Ritual outperforms routine. Across the whole six-month partnership, the single most resonant content was not a class at all — it was a full-moon sound bath and manifestation session. People post about things that feel like an occasion. A very good workout is not automatically an occasion.
